TVB Invests Big on CNY Series "Time For Love" Starring HK, Taiwan, Korean and Japanese Stars

Although the Chinese New Year period had always been known as the 'period of the ashes' for TV series, but TVB still heavily values this time period. Recently TVB has decided to invest nearly HK$10 million on producing a Golden Lunar New Year series Time Of Love. Many Siu Sang and FaDans will be paired up with Korean and Taiwanese artists. Filming will also take place in four locations in Asia. The series is divided into four stories centered around 'Tragic', 'Happiness', 'Metropolis' and 'Cartoon'. Time of Love will be broadcasting for 4 Sunday nights beginning on January 26th, stretching from Lunar New Year to Valentine's Day.

Each of the four stories has its own selling point, the "Metropolis" story is led by Charmaine Sheh and Raymond Lam; filming will take place in Singapore. Raymond portrays a foolish young man who falls in love with his beautiful superior Charmaine. The two collaborate once again after My Sister of Eternal Flowerthree years ago, and will definitely create new sparks.

Kate Tsui will take on the "Tragic" tearjerker story. Filming will take place in Malaysia. In the series, she will be portraying the "HK Version of Song Hye Koo", who gets into a car accident and loses her memory. She'll be in a love triangle with The Fierce Wife actor James Wen and Chris Wang.

Linda Chung and Korean actor Yeon Jung Hoon will be paired up and filming in Korea for the "Happiness" story. Linda had always been a good crier, but this time she will play the greedy 'Miss 13 Dots'. She will be displaying her comedic side.

The comedic Wong Cho Lam will be collaborating with Japanese actress Naomi Wantanbe and Taiwanese boyband Fahrenheit member Aaron Yan for the "Cartoon" story. There will be a lot of 'transformations' and disguises involved. Wong Cho Lam plays a cartoon storyteller, responsible for telling what the 'thin-fat' couple's desires. Wong Cho Lam disclosed its going to be a really fun role: "Just like a translator, so much fun! Actually this is a new attempt because I have the chance to collaborate with Naomi Wantanabe, who is just as funny!" The cast will be heading out to Japan on January 14th for 5 days of filming. Asked if his girlfriend Leanne Li will be watching him closely? Cho Lam laughed: "Actually she likes Aaron Yan a lot, it is me who will be watching her closely!" Cho Lam added Aaron is his idol too, and really anticipates their collaboration. As a popular artist in Japan, Aaron expressed its refreshing to do a crossover with HK stars.

Yesterday Kate accepted a telephone interview and expressed she will be heading out to Malaysia on Christmas day to start shooting until New Year's Eve. She joked, she'll be enjoying a "warm Christmas" over in Malaysia. When asked if she had any kiss scenes with her Taiwanese co-stars? She said: "I'm not sure yet, but we will be going to many romantic places. It feels really special collaborating with other artists from different regions. Before we start filming, I will be watching The Fierce Wife to get to know my co-stars more." This year Kate is nominated for TV Queen and My Favorite Character awards depending on her role in Bounty Lady, she expressed she's facing the awards optimistically: "If I don't get anything this year, then there is always next year. If not, then there is the year after next!" She personally supports Kristal Tin and Linda Chung.

As for Charmaine Sheh, she attended a charity event in Macau last night. This year she's not part of the TV Queen battle, but she expressed she feels very relaxed and will pay close attention to the winners' acceptance speeches to be used as a reference. Charmaine said she supports Kristal Tin, Linda Chung and Kenneth Ma. She had just returned to HK from Shanghai, she expressed she knows TVB wants to invit her to shoot a 'mini movie', but she's not sure of the details yet. Earlier she had a condition on her neck that caused numbness, she is currently taking medication and doing physical therapy. As to whether she will accept the new series, she will have to see if her body can handle it.
