Steven Ma New Song & MV with Fala Chen, Hopes to Shoot MVs with Tavia Yeung & Linda Chung

Yesterday Steven Ma, Tavia Yeung, Maggie Siu, Cilla Lok, Katy Kung and the rest of the cast of TVB new series Storm in a Cocoon attended the promotional event held at an organic farm in Tuen Mun. It has already been two years since Steven appeared in a TVB series, asked whether he's worried he might break his "TV Rating Lucky Star" image and whether he had confidence in the series? He said: "The TV rating trends had changed in the recent years. Before when a new series premieres, the rating would be at least 30 points, but now I feel a little pressured!" When speaking of his new song releasing on the music charts in March, Steven expressed he invited Fala Chen for the duet and she'll be the female lead in the MV. He personally produced and directed the MV. He said: "For my other two songs, I hope to invite Tavia Yeung and Linda Chung to be the female leads in the MV! (Kiss scenes?) Maybe! (Afraid people might say you're taking a 'public device' for personal use?) At most people may say it's incest! Everyone knows they're my sisters!"

Katy Kung was recently rumored with a hair salon owner and she was photographed on a date with former Mr. Hong Kong Jack Hui. She explained she's been collaborating with the male hairstylist for many years, and she just went to show her support at his new hair salon. As for Jack Hui, she was having dinner with him and other friends. She stressed she is still single.

Tavia purchased a basket full of organic vegetables at the farm, she expressed her mother liked to eat them and has planted several pots on their balcony at home. Asked how she's spending Valentine's Day this year? Tavia said: "Working! But I really want to hot pot with my mom! (Call Him Law to join you?) He's welcomed to come! It's not a big deal, just an extra chopstick. I'm not a person who likes to call and invite people, and I rarely call him. (He invites you?) I don't know. (Prepared a gift?) Nope, I never do these things. (Looking forward to it?) Don't waste money! The flowers are expensive, just buy a some vegetables, so we can add it to our hot pot." Tavia expressed she's not a romantic person, and has never personally made chocolates for anyone. What she does most is buy chocolates for others. Tavia frankly expressed she rarely gets Valentine's Day gifts, in the past she got flowers before. What hopes does she have for this year? She laughed: "Nothing much. Actually when two people are together, gifts and little surprises could be given on any ordinary day."

Also, Him attended a separate event yesterday and when asked whether he prepared any gifts or surprises for girlfriend Tavia Yeung on Valentine's Day? He said: "Keep it simple! Call more people to come, that would be a great surprise. No need to be romantic! (Already an old couple?) No, I'm actually off on that day, but she has to work! (Gift?) Valentine's Day gifts are not just for one person, everyone should get one, it's courtesy!"

TV Queen Battle: Netizens support Michelle Yim, but she supports Tavia Yeung

Michelle Yim, Maggie Siu, Nancy Wu, Oscar Leung and the rest of the cast of The Confidant attended the promotional event. The premiere week averaged 31 points and peaked at 36 points, which is currently the top rated premiere week rating this year. Netizens are currently heavily supporting Michelle Yim to take the TV Queen title, but Michelle laughed: "I'm happy, of course it would be great if the award was given to me, but I personally support Tavia Yeung, Kate Tsui and Myolie Wu. If I had to choose one of them, I vote for Tavia. TV King, of course I support my partner Wayne Lai! (Raymond Lam has so many fans!) I'm his fans too, he's so handsome, but for the one person per vote, I choose Wayne!"

This is Nancy's first time singing the sub theme song for her series, she laughed and said actually a dream of hers; she is happy that it's been fulfilled. When asked if any record labels had been in touch with her? She said: "Not yet! I hope the song airs more often, so I have the opportunity to fulfill my small wish of releasing an album and get a taste of it!"

Moses Chan takes care a sicken Aimee Chan

Yesterday Moses Chan and Maggie Siu attended the promotional event for TVB series Master of Play. Aimee Chan was absent because she was ill. At the event, Moses performed magic on stage, but was pretty clumsy revealing the tricks, and resulted in laughter among the audience. Moses expressed: "She (Aimee Chan) was going to come, but because she's been working too her, she feels unwell. I will take good care of her or accompany her to the doctor. Most important is she gets lots of rest. (You'll take care of her so she doesn't have to work?) She likes to act, I respect her aspiration. She has high flexibility in her acting, and has performed very well this time!" Moses expressed he has done a lot of homework on the magic and performed 60% of the magic scenes from the series. "I've learned a few tricks before, but of course the large-scale magic tricks, I need a professional magician to direct me."

There were many complaints on the bloody and terrifying scenes, Maggie strongly supported that the scenes were necessary for the plot. "If it were too simple, then the scenes would look fake. Of course, we have to have strong seriousness in the shoot to be able to explicate the later story. If the housewives have to look after their children, then don't watch. Save it for the evenings to watch online with husband. My mom is watching the series and is also not understanding the plot, I will explain it to her. In fact, the housewives are very smart, just they are too busy and cannot concentrate on watching series. Have to give it some time to digest."

'Master of Play' terrifying premiere gets 25 complaints

TVB controversial series Master of Play premiered last night and was instantly named 'Golden God Series'. Netizens are actively discussing and analyzing the storyline, dialogue and the performance of the actors. Since the production team Jonathan Chik and Chow Yuk Ming set the stage with their previous series When Heaven Burns, audience were prepared to get the same feeling from this series. Yesterday the Broadcasting Authority received 24 complaints on Master of Play being too terrifying, bloody, disturbing and is not suitable to broadcast during that time slot. TVB also received 1 complaint. As far as the TV ratings, the first episode averaged at 28 points, and peaked at 30 points (~ 1.92 million viewers).

That night, Adam watched the first episode of Master of Play with his wife and daughter. They had positive feedback and understood the story. Netizens called the series a 'God Series'? Adam laughed: "Moses [Chan] and I really do have some crazy characters! (Did you complain on the bloody scenes?) I do admit it is a little terrifying. That one scene where the blood splatted on the pillar was pretty frightening, but we handled it well while shooting." Netizens praised Adam's good acting, but when asked if the scene where he puts on makeup while tearing up, demonstrated his acting skills? He laughed and said he was just into character and will have to continue working hard on his acting.

Adam predicted the Master of Play premiere would make the Heng Seng stocks drop 300 points, but there was only a 29 point drop in the stock market on Monday (5/21). Yesterday (5/22) the stocks went up by 116 points. He laughed and expressed he already said before he didn't believe in the 'Adams Effect'. The current stock market and and TV ratings are both just as important to him. He hopes investors can earn more and hopes more audience will support Master of Play.

Editor Chow Yuk Ming gave fans an analysis of his past productions on Weibo. War of Beauty borrows the competition in the palace to describe life; When Heaven Burns sighs on the heartless society in today's world; Master of Play describes sinking into bad habits. Tsui Wing, who played the psychotic murderer in the first episode, already took the lead despite his short 10 minutes appearance. Netizens complimented on his acting, his portrayal had enough 'crazy' elements and his dialogue was so fine. Maggie Siu's alarmed expression while on the hospital bed after learning that her arm was chopped off by Tsui Wing also got praises. Moses Chan's touching wedding proposal to Maggie was applauded by audience. Adam's scene, where he rehearses his lines in front of the mirror and tears filling up his eyes was greatly praised as well.

Netizens said Master of Play is much simpler than War of Beauty and When Heaven Burns. The suspenseful storyline, making audience want to watch more of it, is what makes it a winner. It was said the mood of the series is very violent, but the picture is not that bloody, which makes it a high level thriller. There are both praises and criticisms on the discussion forums. Some said they were bored for 15 minutes, and didn't understand the story.

Adam Cheng complains about the intense kiss scene with Maggie Siu

Adam Cheng, Moses Chan, Maggie Siu and Aimee Chan attended TVB new series Master of Play's promotional event. At the event, a clip of Adam and Maggie's kiss scene was shown. Regarding this, Adam frankly expressed he was a little resistant to the kiss scene, but still performed the duties of an actor and also told his wife about the scene. Adam said: "I already said before I can't do it. I don't like it [because] it's not too good when you have a wife. However, the producer was very serious, so I lived up to my responsibilities as an actor."

Adam expressed that kiss scene was more intense than anything in the past, so he's worried viewers won't accept it. He laughed: "It is totally French style. We are lovers, so we do what couples do. All along, I had been resistant to shoot the kiss scene, and still feel a little disturbed now. (Worried your wife might feel disturbed?) Nope, I actually don't really do those kind of scenes, my wife is quite open, she knows that I'm just acting!" Adam expressed there were no NGs when shooting that scene and was completed very fast. He said Maggie was really professional, and quickly brought him into character.

Maggie laughed and said she wanted to kiss Adam for a long time now, she joked: "My acting doesn't compare to him! My lines aren't as great as his lines, so I can only rely on that kind of communication. (Felt good?) He's very good, experienced and quickly brought me into character. We both did it comfortably. (Do you have to tell your boyfriend about it?) Not necessary, after all it's just work. If there is dislike, next time we can just fake the kiss with camera angles! In fact, it's quite awkward for me too, no matter how familiar I am with the person."

When speaking of an actual couple shooting kiss scenes would be less awkward? Maggie frankly expressed it would be just as awkward. She said she talked to Aimee Chan about this before and she wasn't too receptive of the idea either because viewers won't believe it when reality is put into the acting. The best is to keep work and personal lives separate.

Yesterday at the promotion, the couple Moses and Aimee kept their distance and often grabbed Adam to stand in between them. Later, after several times of inviting the couple to take a photo together, they finally awkwardly took one.

Also, in regards to the 23 year old female artist's sexual assault case, Maggie directly expressed often times the man won't admit it. However, as of now the whole story is just one sided and there isn't any evidence. When Aimee was asked about the case, she expressed she heard the other staff mentioned it and expressed she's usually busy with work, so she rarely goes out late. Aimee said she likes to drink champagne more, but only likes to enjoy it at home. When asked if Moses would protect her? She said she will get a good friend to go out with her. Since childhood, Aimee has been taking Kung Fu lessons for self-defense and knows how to box, so she can protect herself.

Bowie Lam, Moses Chan, Kenny Wong holds X'Mas Rock concert to promote 'When Heaven Burns'

The When Heaven Burns (WHB) rating sinks into a depression. Last night the cast including Moses Chan, Bowie Lam and Kenny Wong took part in a X'Mas Rock promotional event. The three announced they have established a band called 'Sober Band' and hope a record company will invite them to record a CD. Bowie is currently developing in Mainland, so he hoped their singing will be popular from Beijing all the way back to Hong Kong.

As for the low ratings, Moses has not felt disappointed yet. He believes the audience just haven't accepted a new type of series yet, but a taxi driver praised the series is very good. Bowie has already signed with a new management, but he still strongly supported that the story is very touching and that the finale should move audience to tears. Bowie also indirectly criticized TVB: "Actually gotta thank TVB for giving WHB so many promotions. It has already been in storage for two years and they could have kept it in storage, so what? TVB still decided to broadcast it, gotta thank them!"

Producer Jonathan Chik said WHB is his most creative production, it is his own sweat and blood. He haven't felt unhappy for the poor ratings, and its hard to see the majority of the cast out at the promotion last night. It was reported that WHB dragged down the prime time ratings, even the sitcom broadcasting in the 8pm time slot has been affected? Jonathan disdain the report, and asked reporters if they flipped the times in their calculations? He joked he doesn't understand how to do this type of calculation.
