Bobby Au Yeung & Esther Kwan's New Series Costume Fitting

It's been over 10 years since Bobby Au-Yeung and Esther Kwan collaborated. Their last collaboration was Armed Reaction. Yesterday the two appeared at the costume fitting for TVB new series Reverse Three Lifetimes of Fate along with the other cast including Ben Wong, Mandy Wong, Christine Kuo, Pierre Ngo, Rebecca Zhu and Benjamin Yuen. The story is about time traveling through three different time periods.

Esther reveals she will have scenes where she goes into the water during the winter and does CPR. She laughed and said she'll have to get a stunts double to help her do those scenes, "I hope we'll finish filming the scenes in HK before new years because after new years we'll be heading to Foshan for more shooting. I'll have a long 10 days off during Lunar New Year." When asked if she had to get approval from her husband Nick Cheung first? She said: "He's busier than me. Our daughter is already 7 years old and our domestic worker just left, she will have to learn to be more independent. Let her survive on her own."

When speaking of ATV protesting against the government issuing more free-to-air TV licenses, Bobby said: "Are they in charge? They're holding onto a free-to-air license and then tells the government not to give the licensees to others? Then what will those who are currently shooting CTI series do? Let others have somewhere to go! People should be fair." When asked if TVB has a similar demonstration, will he support them? Bobby expressed as long as it's justice, he will support. Esther felt helpless on her 'maternal home' (ATV) behaviors.

Christine Kuo expressed she plays a barbaric princess in this series and will have many scenes opposite of Benjamin Yuen. However, when she introduced his character's name, she mistakenly said "cut banana" (jin chiu) instead of "Chin Chiu". It was a hilarious moment, Christine explained she just accidentally blurted our her lines from the series.

Myolie Wu "Fei Tin" again, gains 10lbs and gets her first ever 'patpat',

Myolie Wu "Fei Tin" again, gains 10lbs and gets her first ever 'patpat'

Yesterday Myolie Wu, Linda Chung, Bobby Au Yeung and JJ Jia attended TVB series House of Harmony and Vengeance promotion event. Bobby was hilarious as he had on the ancient Chinese bra ('to dou') while playing the games. Regarding the ratings, Myolie laughed: "I heard the ratings were 29 points, considered above average!" Bobby sighed and expressed the leads are jointly treating the cast and crew a meal on the finale night, but Linda is busy shooting another series and may not be able to make it.

Bobby appeared at the event dressed casually and teased that he's pretending to be Ron Ng and then dragged Myolie into the water, by calling her Viann Zhang. Bobby teased Myolie, that she has to rely on materials to be able to have a figure like Viann's. When speaking of the heavy storyline in new series Master of Play, Bobby directly admitted thatHouse is a no brainer and the happy feeling is like celebrating new years. Bobby said: "Disgust, action, handsome or Chok series are not for me. The silly and funny roles are more suitable for me because there's only me in TVB that hasn't left, but there are also Fuk Luk Sau (Louis Yuen, Wong Cho Lam, Johnson Lee) and Evergreen Mak. I have an old contract with TVB and still owe them about two series. We haven't discuss the contract renewal terms yet, but if I don't renew my contract, I will no longer have a hobby. If I go to Mainland and then back to HK, I'm worried I may be unemployed, so most likely I'll be renewing my contract. After all, I have been with the company for 30 years, and will eventually need to settle at one network."

Lately Myolie has been working in Mainland and each day she eats all three of her meals. She revealed she gained 10 pounds and is busy trying to lose the weight now. She said: "My lower body is the disastrous area, I have never had a pat pat (butt) in my 30 year lifetime. (What about your upper body?) Not sure, didn't measure." Does boyfriend Bosco Wong have anything to say about her weight gain? Myolie expressed he's busy shooting in Shanghai, and she hasn't seen him for several months. She feels her career should be the priority, it's fine if they don't see each other often.

Linda clarifies sister isn't sick

It was reported Linda is a 'stingy girl' and is actively saving up to help pay for her seriously ill elder sister's medical bills. Linda clarified: "Absolutely a misunderstanding! The reporter misunderstood my meaning when they interviewed me. My sister is very healthy. The report has caused unhappiness in my entire family. Friends and relatives were very worried, so I must explain and clarify this rumor. (Are you a stingy girl?) I spend when I should spend, just considered a normal girl. I don't have a domestic worker at home, so I go grocery shopping and cook myself, that is normal. Should I be going out to eat every day? So, in no way am I deliberately saving up to buy groceries."

JJ Jia feels unhappy scolded by Netizens

In the series, JJ Jia plays a villain, and is getting scolded by Netizens daily. She admits her EQ is low and is thin-skinned, so she's been feeling unhappy. JJ helplessly said: "I hope the ending will air soon, so I don't get yelled at anymore. Although this is the case, I won't resist to play villains in the future. In my next series, I'm a villain again. Because I want to try everything, I feel like I'm contradicting myself, so the only thing I can do is to have self-control."

'Flower King' Bobby Au-Yeung: Jessica Hsuan is the meanest co-star!

'Flower King' Bobby Au-Yeung: Jessica Hsuan is the meanest co-star!

Bobby Au Yeung has been acting for 30 years and been in numerous series. He has entertained an unlimited number of audience over the years and is the audiences' "Happy Fruit". Although his body figure is 'growing' every day, but the FaDans he co-stars with are getting young and younger. Lately, his youngest co-star is Linda Chung, who is 23 years his junior, that honestly makes people jealous.

BOBBY: I've been in a countless number of series and have paired up with many different FaDans, and they're even getting younger and younger too. Indeed, people envy me, but what's interesting is I never had a rumor. Perhaps everyone knows I had a girlfriend all along, then after I got married, I had a wife. Also I have a good record, so the female artists that collaborate with me can always relax.

When speaking of my youngest co-star, you can say she's Linda Chung in the latest series House of Harmony and Vengeance. Although our age gap is huge, there is no generation gap between us at all. Perhaps she matured early, whereas I matured late. Linda is a very gentle, but playful little girl and because of this we had a pleasant collaboration. Just like the bed scene we had, it was about her moaning while taking off her clothes after being drugged. Before the shoot, she asked me how she should approach the scene. Linda has never been drunk before, so she didn't know how to do the moaning. I taught her to scream the word "two" in Mandarin, but unexpectedly she sounded pretty good screaming that "two" and we completed the scene in one take.

Aside from Linda, I don't know why the female artists I work with, are all mean women. Perhaps I'm too naughty, and if not mean enough, I can't be tamed!

Jessica Hsuan - No One Dares to Touch her Chair

The meanest is definitely Jessica Hsuan. I have the guts to say that it is all because Jessica can joke the most. She is so mean, the whole industry knows. When we were shootingA Pillow Case of Mystery II, each artist had their own work chair, for the sake of convenience. After work, we leave the chair at a public area in TVB City, and on the next day anyone can just take the chairs to use. My work chair is fairly new and clean, but one time I didn't have to work for a week, and didn't want others to use my chair, Jessica suggested: "You write my name on it, no one will dare touch it!" I wrote Jessica's name on a piece of paper and drew a skull with cross bones below it. Results, when the week went by, the chair really was left untouched. Touch Jessica Hsuan's chair? You really haven't died before! Haha...

Let me give Jessica some justice, she's actually not mean. She's just someone who has a lot of principles. She will absolutely not let others borrow her chair because she believes the chair is a very personal article. If you want a chair, bring one yourself. Well, she's not wrong at all.

So Wet No Bra To Wear

Jessica is really a playful person. When I was shooting A Recipe from the Heart, there was one scene where John Tang and I had to use a cup of water to wake up the passed out Jessica. I suggested we put water in our mouths and then spray it on Jessica to wake her up, that's how cravings are satisfied! Jessica didn't have a problem with that, and I thought to myself since she's so quick and easy, I'll take it to the max. First I'll chase her around spraying her with the cup of water, then hide a bucket of water under the sofa. Jessica saw something was wrong and avoided the 'trap', but I still dumped the bucket of water on her back. She was completely soaked and the outcome of that scene turned out really good. Jessica was not upset at all, she just told me off when we got to the costume room: "You should have told me earlier that you were gonna dump the water on me, I didn't bring an extra 'Ba Ba' (bra). What am I going to do now that I'm all wet!" Only Jessica can be that playful, we are like a family. We don't get upset after playing.

Esther Kwan "Explodes the Room"

In fact, what I really want to do is find a boyfriend for Jessica. Unfortunately all the men around me are married. I told her to wait and see which one of them divorces. Many people apparently think Jessica is a dog lover, so any who's a dog lover like herself will be right for her, but she shocked everyone. Even her ex-boyfriend, the South African veterinarian (Ruan), couldn't handle her. I think only a lion tamer can handle her, tame her with a lash!

The second meanest is Esther Kwan. She really can't take any jokes, only Nick Cheung can deal with her, everyone else are just going to die if they tried. When we were shootingLegendary of the Four Aces, one time she had a scene with Nick. At the time they were already living together, Nick told her to go back to TVB City to do her hair first, then he'll go later. When Esther finished setting her hair, the PA (assistant director) suddenly said Nick got sick and passed out. I saw Esther rush out to get her car, at the time she didn't know what was going on and only saw Nick at the studio later that evening. She said you know how big of a mess I was in this morning? Esther was so upset she rushed back home, kicked the bedroom door loudly, and yanked the covers off, at the time it was cold weather too, Esther shouted: "Sei Lo (bad man), you can even prank me!" It's really like wow that can happen? They are a match from heaven, no one can replace them.

Yoyo Mung very open testing the kiss

In my theory, [my] mouth and face on the side, it looks like salted pancakes all piled together. What's so great about kiss scenes? You think it's Michael Tao? He has a taller nose, a sharper chin and better skin, his side face kiss scenes are pretty good to watch. I saw his kiss scenes with Flora Chan and Jessica Hsuan, it really looks smooth and free. When it was my turn to shoot a drunken kiss scene with Ada Choi in Armed Reaction 3, we completed the scene first by a kiss on the cheek, then the forehead and then finally a hug. All you have to do is display the feelings, there is no need for an intense kiss. Even the director couldn't refute.

But, later I had another kiss scene with Yoyo Mung. It was only then that I learned kiss scenes could be rehearsed! That time, we were at Tsim Sha Tsui shooting a kiss scene on the busy streets. Before we started shooting, I was so nervous, I walked back and forth, drinking water and eating gum. Yoyo came over to provoke me, "What? You really nervous? Got bad breath? You're eating so much gum. Seeing you so scared, there's not many people around now, want to give it a try?" You can rehearse a kiss scene too? Usually, I don't rehearse these scenes, only when we actually start shooting, I do the kiss. Fine! I gave it a try, she kissed me, and asked me if it felt good. I said it's good. She even asked me if I wanted to try another time? Usually after completing the scene, the actor would act like a gentleman and thank the actress. To my surprise, after we finished, I said thanks, but she says thank you back to me. What girl would say that? She's just unbelievable!

Later when I was shooting House, Yoyo saw me at the makeup room and said: "Hey! It's so miserable being a woman, you were just kissing me before, and now a few years later, you get to pair up with Myolie Wu and Linda Chung." I purposely said, "Yup, in the next few years you'll be my stepmother!" Just to upset her.

Jessica and Yoyo shares their Bobby stories

Jessica: "I had a kiss scene with Bobby one time, and before the shoot, he circled the director 10 times. He was constantly trying to convince the director to cancel the scene, but in the end the director did actually cancel it. I saw Bobby going in circles, it was just so funny. I haven't turned my back on him yet and he's not willing to kiss me."

Yoyo praised Bobby as a good partner and with him around, she has never been bored on the set. One time Bobby found her car keys and planned to prank her with it. When they were getting off work in the middle of the night, he insisted that he'll accompany her to her car. He thought she'll freak out when she can't find her keys, but little did he know, Yoyo was calm and pulled out her keys right out of her pocket. Bobby was startled and took out the keys he picked up, "Then who's keys are these?" It turns out, before when Yoyo was filming with Alex Fong, he would hide her keys to prevent her from leaving early. Since then, Yoyo always carried spare keys to work. Couldn't believe she pranked Bobby back with it that time, she laughed: "I really have to thank Alex Fong!"

Linda Chung gets 'groaning skills' advice from Bobby Au Yeung

At the TVB series House of Harmony and Vengeance promotional event yesterday, the ratings for last week were announced. Last week, the average was 30 points and peaked at 34 points. In episode 15, there was a bed scene with Linda Chung and Bobby Au-Yeung after being drugged. When the drugs kicked in, Linda started groaning: "So hot!" Then she said to Bobby while giving him a hug: "I want it!". Netizens turned this part of the scene into a spoof, a 10 second clip called "Brainwashed Linda Chung Groaning". Some Netizens said the clip insulted Linda! Yesterday at the promotion, everyone made Linda into a joke. Bobby claimed he taught Linda how to do the groaning. Linda laughed and said she learned a lot from him and praised how good of a teacher Bobby was. She said: "Thanks to Bobby's teachings, that time there were some areas I didn't know how to portray. I would have never thought there would be such a big reaction when it broadcasts. In fact, that day when we were filming, we were laughing so hard our stomachs were hurting. As for me, I have little experience in this area, Bobby is full of experiences, so I went to ask him for advice." She said she's not upset with Netizens' behavior, but she won't recommend audience focusing too much on this aspect.

As for exposing her 'career line' in the series, Linda frankly expressed in usual days she shows "a little", and she does not mind healthy sex appeal. When asked how her boyfriend sees it? Linda said: "Huh? If I had a boyfriend, he can have an opinion and if it's not too over, I should be happy."

It was reported Bobby's wife went to HK Sanatorium & Hospital to seek assistance from an infertility doctor? Bobby said: "I don't know whether or not she went to that hospital, but sometimes when I have the cold or flu, I would go too. Actually, I don't want children. If we wanted children, we would have had one earlier on, and won't have to wait until now. We have consensus already, it's better for us to play with other people's children." When speaking of a magazine reporting that Michael Tse had an affair behind his wife's back? Bobby laughed and said he doesn't have enough guts to do that: "Mrs. Tse is beautiful and powerful, I believe Michael won't make unnecessary sacrifices."

Bobby Au-Yeung: "Mr. Good Turned Bad is Still Loveable"

Bobby Au-Yeung: "Mr. Good Turned Bad is Still Loveable"

House of Harmony and Vengeance starring Bobby Au-Yeung, Evergreen Mak, Myolie Wu and Linda Chung is currently broadcasting on TVB. In the series, Bobby changes his past 'Mr. Good' image and turned into a deceitful and mischievous crafty musician (Kiu Bo Lung). He develops a romantic relationship with Myolie and Linda. Yesterday Bobby accepted an interview with Mainland's Yang Cheng Wan Bao's Evening News.

Transformation: "Mr. Good Turned Bad"

As for Bobby's 'transformation', he laughed and said he can finally break through the "can't be bad" image. Bobby expressed he turned 'bad', but is still lovable. "It is too dangerous to give me a villain role. All along, no one has dared to give much such a role, but this role is in between good and bad, not considered a bad person. After being a good person for so many years, it is good for a little change. Although I had the chance to be 'bad', the filming process was quite a devil. We were filming the series in the summer. It was honestly too hot and there was a few times I almost got a heatstroke. I felt like my whole body was numb, and couldn't say my lines at all. There was one day, I had to change into 5 pairs of undergarments and 2 pairs of underwear because it was just completely soaked in sweat."

House of Harmony and Vengeance sets in the Tang dynasty and revolves around the music bureau. There were several dance experts in the cast, and Bobby was one of them. Back when he was in the [TVB] Artist Training Class, he scored the highest in his class in modern dance. He has also participated in the Miss Hong Kong dance performances. This time, did he personally teach the FaDans dancing? Bobby modestly said: "I've done modern dancing in the past before. I shouldn't cause trouble this time and mess everything up. The girls had a dance instructor train them. Each day when we get off work, it is already really late, and early in the morning on the next day, they have to go for dance rehearsal again. It is very difficult. Fortunately, the results turned out very nice. Some audience said each night, they felt like they were watching the TVB anniversary."

The FaDans: 'Girlfriend' today, 'Stepmother' in the next 2 or 3 years

Bobby's on-screen partners started off with Amy Chan, then to Esther Kwan, Marianne Chan, Jessica Hsuan and recently his partners gradually started getting younger and younger. In the recent years, he started collaborating with the huge age gaps Tavia Yeung, Myolie Wu and Linda Chung. Bobby teased: "No choice, its the temporarily lack of manpower! The male artists are more advantageous in this area. They can keep acting for 20-30 years, just like Hollywood actor Michael Douglas pairing up with 20 year old actresses. That's not a problem. However, female artists changes fast. In this series, they may still be my girlfriends, but in the next 2 or 3 years, they'll become my stepmother."

How does Bobby evaluate the younger generation FaDans? Bobby expressed: "This is my first time collaborating with Myolie Wu. We had chemistry right away. She has a lot of ideas and gave a lot of useful suggestions. Her unibrow look is very cute. The unibrow look, half of it is her own design. Girls usually want to look beautiful, but she's willing to make herself look like that, very brave! When I was shooting Forensic Heroes, Linda Chung was still a young girl, but now she's already familiar with 'electrifying' people. After several years of training, she has completely changed to another person, in both acting and as a person. She initially didn't know how to dance, during the House of Harmony & Vengeanceshooting, she had to work and do dance rehearsals, but she already got a hang of it in the middle. Tavia Yeung takes the lead already, and have always had stable performances. She can collaborate with anybody, whether with Raymond Lam, Kenneth Ma, Evergreen Mak, or with me, nothing will affect her performance."

The FaDans are changing over and over again, but Bobby still maintains the 'zero' rumors fate. In the entertainment circle, this is truly not easy to do. On the contrary, Bobby is actually feeling a little regretful: "Before I got married, I had no rumors. After I got married, I still didn't have any. Why isn't there any rumors? Is having no rumors a good or bad thing? Don't tell me, I'm not attractive?"

TVB: "Old Friend Left, Turned Into An Orphanage"

Bobby has been in the entertainment industry for over 30 years. In 1981, he joined TVB through the Artist Training Class, and became a TVB actor after graduation. After racing for several years, he finally becomes TV King from Witness to a Prosecution and then again for Dicey Business at the International Emmy Awards. He has long since become the top competitor in TVB, and been labeled as the 'Sequel King' and 'Housewife Killer'. Although Bobby already switched to a 'per series' contract with TVB, each year he still shoots a series with the company. He's considered a 'Rating Guaranteed' artist who knows his blessings.

In the recent year, his old colleagues have been leaving TVB, even his old partner and good friend Jessica Hsuan left. Bobby expresses his feelings: "I feel it's a pity because there are not many seniors left. When I go back to shoot a series now, there are many 20 something year old artists around me. I don't have any brothers around, feels like I'm in an orphanage, where I'm the head of the department taking a group of young children." Will he consider going out to seek for a new place to belong? Bobby frankly said: "I still have a 20+ episodes 'per series' contract with TVB. Working between Mainland and Hong Kong, as long as the time, co-stars and mood are suitable, I will do it. In the last few years, I've done a lot of Mainland series I think being a Hong Kong artist is more useful."
